A starter motor is actually an electric motor, which runs on either AC
or DC current, and plays an important role in the startup of a machine
or engine. Also known as self-starter motor, pneumatic motor, and
hydraulic motor, these motors provide the necessary motion or rotation
to the propeller or wheel, to start the engine, it is associated with.
In other words, they are responsible for starting the engine or machine.
